CNC Machinist

Full job description

Are you someone who enjoys solving mechanical challenges, building high-precision systems, and taking pride in quality craftsmanship?

At ABTech, Inc., we design and manufacture custom, high-accuracy products used in demanding industries. We’re looking for an Electro-Mechanical Assembler who thrives in a hands-on environment—someone who can buildtesttroubleshoot, and improve a wide variety of complex assemblies and systems.

If you're detail-oriented, love prototyping and precision work, and want to play a key role in delivering products that perform to the highest standards, we’d love to meet you.

Who You Are

We're looking for more than a resume. The right person for this role will demonstrate:

  • Cultural alignment — You connect with our company values and thrive in a team-first, purpose-driven environment
  • Emotional intelligence — You communicate with empathy, listen well, and adapt your approach as needed
  • Curiosity and open-mindedness — You're eager to learn and improve continuously
  • Integrity and accountability — You own your work and do what’s right, even when it’s hard

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions to plan and execute complex mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies
  • Build precision components and subassemblies with a focus on accuracy, fit, and finish
  • Perform functional testing, alignment, and calibration of assembled systems to ensure performance meets strict specifications
  • Troubleshoot and resolve assembly or performance issues through root-cause analysis and collaboration with engineering and quality teams
  • Support prototype development and first-article builds; provide feedback to improve manufacturability, performance, and assembly methods
  • Inspect completed assemblies using a variety of precision instruments (micrometers, height gauges, laser interferometers, etc.) to verify tolerances and conformance
  • Continuously look for ways to improve assembly techniques, tools, and documentation for better efficiency and consistency
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and quality in all work areas

What You Bring

  • 3+ years of experience in precision mechanical or electro-mechanical assembly
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and assembly documentation
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Experience with hands-on testing, troubleshooting, and performance verification
  • Familiarity with using high-accuracy measurement and inspection tools
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively, with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Bonus: Experience in prototyping, R&D environments, or custom/small-batch manufacturing

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Hands-On Problem Solving: Each build presents a new challenge—test, tweak, and perfect your work
  • Product Variety: Work on a wide range of high-precision products for industries that demand excellence
  • Small Team, Big Impact: Your work has a direct effect on product quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction
  • Supportive Environment: Collaborate closely with engineers, machinists, and QA in a clean, professional shop
  • Opportunity to Grow: Build your skills in prototyping, precision assembly, inspection, and beyond

What We Offer

  • Competitive pay based on experience and technical ability
  • Full benefits: health insurance, retirement plan, paid time off
  • Overtime and flexible shift availability
  • Training and career development opportunities
  • A workplace that values quality, craftsmanship, and continuous improvement
