Applications Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Acts as key-technical contact for customers and engineering team in terms of products, product development or applications.
  • Provide face-to-face customer support and collaboration to ensure technical specifications are understood and expectations are exceeded.
  • Suggest and initiate necessary development measures for technology and product improvements.
  • Effectively utilize in-person visits, phone, emails, events and outbound marketing campaigns for direct prospect and client communication.
  • Engage prospective customers in dialog to fully understand their application(s), listen carefully to their explanations of their needs and define their requirements. Be interested in their challenges and motivations for seeking our support.
  • Present ABTech products’ technical features and benefits as they relate to solving prospective customers’ problems and/or fulfilling their application requirements.
  • Prepare and present proposals and quotations that meet prospective customer’s needs.
  • Follow through and close proposals and quotes
  • Follow up inquiries, quotes and orders in a timely manner.
  • Support the customer in their efforts to justify purchases and gain their managements approval.
  • Seek additional opportunities within customer organizations through developing multiple relationships at all levels and in all departments.
  • Attend trade shows; help with booth setup and tear down, prospect, qualify and capture leads, demonstrate products, gather feedback and market intel, etc.
  • Utilize and maintain Sales contact management database (CRM) with each account activity.
  • Provide management with regular updates on leads, quotes, forecasts, opportunities (new features, products, markets…), competition (pricing, offerings…), market changes, etc.
  • Pre-plan travel and visits to maximize client-facing time and minimize travel time between visits.
  • Provide and confirm Visit plans/meeting agendas to clients for each scheduled visit
  • Complete trip reports for each visit
  • Maintain a positive attitude and “how can we” approach toward challenges that will arise
  • Participate in weekly team meetings
  • Be a creative force when necessary
  • Refrain from engaging in negative conversations about competitors
  • Project a positive company image at all times
  • Practice integrity, reliability and honesty in all business transactions

Job Type: Full-time

Salary:

  • Pay: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year

Experience: 

  • Technical sales: 3 years (Preferred)
