Precision Grinder Machinist

What We’re Looking For:

We’re seeking a Precision Grinder/Machinist who is passionate about craftsmanship, thrives on problem solving, and cares deeply about the small details that make a big difference. If you love figuring things out—reading blueprints, diagnosing finish issues, tweaking grinding setups—this might be your ideal match.

Responsibilities

• Operate precision grinding machines (surface, ID/OD, Radial, and more) to achieve exacting tolerances and high‑quality finishes.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, including GD&T, to set up tooling, workholding, and grind strategies.
• Troubleshoot and root‑cause process deviations: wheel type, speed, coolant, feed, etc., experimenting until the parts meet the spec.
• Inspect parts using micrometers, gauges, profilometers, or other metrology equipment; verify dimensions, form, surface finish.
• Maintain tooling, wheels, dressing equipment; keep the work area organized and machines finely tuned.
• Suggest and implement improvements to reduce scrap, increase throughput, improve finish, and optimize processes.

Qualifications

• Hands‑on experience in machining or grinding with strong mechanical aptitude.
• Experience interpreting blueprints and GD&T.
• Very strong attention to detail; extremely comfortable working with tight tolerances and fine finishes.
• Proven problem‑solving skills: diagnosing issues, experimenting with setup changes, and adjusting process variables.
• Familiarity with metrology tools and inspection techniques.
• (Bonus) Experience with CNC grinders, coolant systems, wheel dressing, or process optimization is a plus.
