Description:

As an Electrical Controls Engineer you play a vital role in the development of application specific products through electrical design, assembly and documentation.

Specific duties and responsibilities:

  • Create electrical schematics (using CAD system), bills of materials, component data sheets, and electrical test procedures consistent with ABTech documentation systems.
  • Construct, maintain, and test electrical systems and components for customer orders.
  • Investigate, evaluate, select, implement and troubleshoot electrical components for the products to ensure we meet or exceed customer expectations while staying on track with master production schedule.
  • Provide technical support to purchasing relating to procurement of electrical components as needed.
  • Understand, modify and maintain plc programs and application software used by motion control suppliers. Application specific software (PLC's and servo settings) to be stored on the Network system consistent with ABTech documentation procedures.
  • Maintain adequate levels of commonly used components such as connectors, pins, contacts, and cables. Keep a list of high dollar inventory items such as motors, encoders, read heads, encoder rings, glass scales, etc. Label these components and keep them organized for quick access. Check and update inventory list on a regular basis to maintain accuracy. Components that are damaged should be repaired, discarded or properly labeled for status.
  • Electronic test equipment - keep an accurate inventory list of electrical test equipment and instruments and maintain this equipment to ensure it is in good working condition.
  • Travel to customer locations for service related work as needed.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum requirement: 2+ years of experience in electrical build (panel assembly)
  • Electrical or Electromechanical degree preferred
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Ideal candidate will be a self-starter who enjoys product development and collaboration in a team environment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
